Battle Style: David prefers to take as few risks as possible. He tries to know as much as he can about his opponents before he engages them. He enjoys taking an offensive approach and doesn't have much aptitude for defensive strategies. Most of the time he makes his moves in a calm and methodical manner, but if he ends up at a disadvantage and the pressure is on he may become a little reckless. He avoids using under-handed tactics and having mutual respect from his pokemon and his opponents is important to him.

Personality:David has a very aloof mentality towards all aspects of his life. He finds pleasure and comfort in the familiar. So he doesn't make much effort to expand his horizons. He is intelligent and has a natural aptitude for becoming quickly proficient in many practical skills. But because of this he quickly becomes frustrated if learning a skill is difficult for him. He is very cautious, almost always avoiding sizable risks. It is difficult for him to feel comfortable around new acquaintances and will be very quiet and distant. But for the friends he does make he is very light hearted , kind, and loyal. David's sense of humor is very cynical and sarcastic. He calls it how he sees it.

History: David was born and raised in Accumula Town. His family has a cabin in the woods a little way outside of town. His parents had been gone most of the time since he was 8 years old. They were both pokemon researchers working on a project. They told him they had to keep it a secret from him. They visit a few times a year. The rest of the time David lived with his grandfather. David had heard that his grandfather used to be a strong and well-known pokemon trainer. Having heard this David was very curious to see him in action but his grandfather no longer seemed interested in battling and spent his time just caring for and raising his pokemon.

At first David didn't really care for the idea of having his own pokemon. Raising and battling seemed like a waste of time to him. Until one day his grandfather called him into his room. David was 16 at the time. His grandfather told him he found this egg while he was hiking in the nearby mountains. It was about to hatch and he thought David would like to see it. When David saw the egg he was at a little put off at first. He didn't think this would be interesting. But as the egg started to glow it grabbed his attention. He was suddenly very curious to find out what pokemon would hatch from it.

The shell began to crack and David began to get anxious. A fleeting thought struck him for a second that maybe it would be a Caterpie or something he could see every day from his window. This made him chuckle to himself as he realized that this was likely the case and he silently chastised himself for getting excited for nothing. But as the pokemon emerged from the egg he was surprised to find that was not the case. Staring up at them was an Eevee and it cried out its name. David's grandfather looked as surprised as David was. The Eevee got up and walked in a circle a few times getting used to using it's legs. Then it turned and looked up at David. It stared for a few moments then jumped up to his shoulder. David was startled and wasn't sure how to react.

As the Eevee got comfortable David's grandfather commented on how the Eevee seemed to like him. David was both amused and annoyed at his grandfather's statement of the obvious. But he couldn't help feeling flattered all the same. His grandfather told David that he should keep it considering how its already attached to him. David wasn't sure but seeing the Eevee so happy on his shoulder won him over and he was happy to take it.

For the next 2 years he spent a lot of his time with his Eevee and David was glad to have someone he could call his partner. One day his grandfather told him he was taking another journey. David asked him what he ws supposed to do. His grandfather told him he was old enough to do what ever he wanted to do. He was welcome to stay at home and take care of the place or take a journey for himself. Then his grandfather left. David spent a week thinking about what he should do. But looking at his Eevee he decided that he would take an adventure of his own and see how good of a trainer he could become. David thought maybe he would run into his parents and grandfather as well.
