Name: Alice Hope
Nickname: Al, Ali, Acchan, Aarin
Age: 20
Gender: Female
Rank: Pokemon Trainer
Birthplace: Ascorbia Island, Orange Archipelago
Battle Style: Alice’s battle style tends to be a strategic, but all-out offensive. She rarely relies on status or defensive moves, instead using powerful attacks that may have a secondary effect, and also using type advantages, particularly with dual-types and wide movepools that can cover any possible situation.

Looks: Alice is a mere 4"7 tall, and weighing in at a mere eight stone, she’s petite. The girl’s skin is a milky white, suggesting that she enjoys as more time indoors as she does out. Her eyes are a deep blue, and always framed with a pair of glasses. She has small hands and feet, and there is nearly always a ring accessorising one of her long fingers, of which she likes to have the nails painted. Whilst her short legs and long arms are toned, the girl’s tummy is chubby, and she also hasn’t lost the fat from her cheeks. Rather than straightened, Alice’s teeth are a little overcrowded, despite six having been removed by the dentist. Her hair is blonde, almost reaching her waist and bleached a golden shade during intense, long-term summery weather.

Personality: Alice is an intelligent and ambitious girl, and after suffering years of bullying, she has grown up to be kind and understanding. The girl is a leadership type, and she commands attention, sometimes in a frustrating way. Her cute, energetic ways can annoy others, and her dry wit can also put people off. Rather than talk about people behind their back, she will speak her mind and discuss problems openly, and during a conflict, has no issues being brutally honest to one’s face – a value her few, close friends cherish and enemies find alarming. However, it’s to be known that her bark is worse than her bite. She isn’t all good qualities, though, as the teenager is also incredibly selfish, something born out of being an only child, and when she wants something, she can throw strops and refuse to let up until that desire is won. She’s cynical, and despite her brilliant mind, can sometimes be slow. Also, though she isn’t lazy in terms of physical activity, if it’s something she enjoys less – like studying or certain sports, for example – Alice can procrastinate all day. She is easily amused and has little willpower, hence why the girl doesn’t diet or make many long-term commitments. In terms of romance, it’s no secret that she’s perverse, but she also has no experience in a real relationship, and is limited to knowledge based on fiction and observations. As a side note, Alice can’t stand people who are stupid, and gets frustrated with those who are indecisive or wallflowers-types.

History: Born to the young couple Kyna and Radley Hope just over a year’s anniversary of their relationship, Alice was a difficult baby. She wouldn’t eat and wouldn’t sleep, and was incredibly small. However, she learned in leaps and bounds, walking before she could crawl and making so much noise it wasn’t surprising that she learned to talk fast as well, helped by a love of reading. She liked painting with her father’s Smeargle, though art was never something she particularly grew into, and her mother’s profession combined to their natural home area meant she was accustomed to Pokemon quickly (except her mother’s Camerupt and several of her father’s team which scared her).

As soon as she could start, she was enrolled in play school and then straight into an academy on the Archipelago, where she excelled with pushing from her parents. Both wanted their daughter to excel at whatever she did, and though Alice was free to decide what she wanted from life, they hoped for university for her as well. At this time, when taking walks through the forests of Ascorbia Island, the child met a Slowpoke who lived by a river and sometimes wandered by the coast. She felt an attachment to the dopy creature right away. A lot of her classmates picked on her, and one of the names they would use was ‘Slowpoke’. She would make poffin and pokeblock with her mother, and sometimes with other treats, come back to feed the Slowpoke. At times when she was upset, she would go alone to find it and sit with him, telling him all of her worries and feelings. Sometimes, he wouldn’t respond, but other times he would comfort her and play together.

After one such instance when she went to make her way home, a few months after her ninth birthday, she didn’t make it. Instead she woke up in a hospital in a completely different world after being found by civilians passed out on a walking trail into a British town. She woke up unable to recall everything about herself accurately, but after describing about her home she was considered delusional – Pokemon weren’t real. However, the two people who found her couldn’t have children, and also felt concerned for her. Alice spent some time in a children’s home, but also with them, during months that adoption went through. Alice was put through therapy and diagnosed with retrograde amnesia, and doctors grappled with many inaccurate diagnosis’ over the years as well. In the end, Alice accepted that she was delusional, but not without a feeling that she did not belong, and doubts about herself and others.

In that time, she went to public school before moving onto a private secondary again. She took up ballet and carried on swimming, and liked walking and taking care of dogs and other animals at nearby pet shops and shelters. Her new parents were both busy, one a doctor and the other a manager of a casino, but they filled the emptiness of absence with material gifts. She became ever more spoiled, but it was what she used to fill the emptiness. Where other children and teenagers picked up habits like smoking, drinking and even sleeping around, she just wanted more things, like books and video games. She joined a theatre and took singing lessons, too – acting and pretending she was someone else, immersing herself in the illusion of stories. All were unsurprising hobbies and considered detrimental to her care, but as she pretended to recover, she was allowed to do as she wished. When her parents were away during the years she couldn’t take care of herself, sleepovers at the school dorms or staying round the homes of friends were commonplace. They all had their issues, the ‘unpopular crowd’, but banded together and got through it.

By university age, she had got to grips and decided to start over. The drama crowds were creative and eccentric just like herself, and also always busy, so there wasn’t much time or need for too much trouble there. Alice felt at home out of home in her own small apartment just outside of London, with her parents paying most of the bills and a loan to help with the rest. She took small jobs sometimes, but overall didn’t work a real day in her life. Besides her ‘crazy’ she had it easy.

Until one day she woke with a Slowpoke nearby, and the girl began wondering if she was so crazy after all...

Ability: Oblivious: The Pokemon cannot be under the ‘attract’ condition.
